Zed Foundation is a non-profit civil society organization established in 2024 (Registration No. 12259). It works to economically empower youth, women, entrepreneurs, and marginalized groups with limited economic opportunities in Egypt by supporting them in launching and developing small and micro enterprises in a way that ensures growth and long-term sustainability. The Foundation also helps individuals acquire new, market-relevant skills that increase their income and enhance their professional development.
The Foundation’s approach is rooted in education, technology, and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on rapidly advancing artificial intelligence. We provide practical, hands-on training and modern tools that enable beneficiaries to meet the evolving demands of the global market and seize transformative opportunities that can positively reshape their careers and businesses.
Zed Foundation further supports small enterprises in transitioning into the formal economy by helping them regularize their operations and benefit from the legal and financial incentives offered by the government and relevant institutions. At the same time, we promote the strategic integration of technology within business models to ensure that enterprises are equipped to compete effectively in both local and international markets.
Our mission is driven by a strong commitment to improving the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Egypt. We represent the voice of small enterprises, analyze the structural challenges that push some businesses to operate informally, and provide practical support and capacity-building to overcome these barriers. We aim to prepare a generation capable of leveraging advanced technologies, competing globally, and building fast-growing ventures that can stand alongside larger companies—while delivering measurable economic value to Egypt.
